Maintenance Technician
Albermarle Health & Rehabilitation Center in Charlottesville is looking for a motivated and self-driven Maintenance Technician for a 120-bed skilled nursing center.
The Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on the physical structure, equipment and grounds of the center as directed by the Maintenance Director, Administrator or Corporate Maintenance staff. Performs the duties of the maintenance Director in his/her absence.
One (1) year experience in commercial maintenance or related trades.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate, comprehend, understand, and write messages, and follow directions.
- Able to Investigate mechanical breakdowns and failures of machinery and equipment to determine cause and prevent recurrence by a preventive maintenance program.
- Complies with all Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Environmental Quality requirements and regulations.
- Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose and repair the above systems.
- Must be able to work flexible hours in order to, among other things, meet emergency requirements such as repairs. Must be able to report to the center within 20 minutes of being called for emergency work.

What you'll do
- Supervise, coordinate, and direct the work of nursing assistants (CNAs).

The Staff Development Coordinator works closely with the HR manager to provide new hire orientation. The SDC evaluates the educational needs to ensure on-going continuing education and adherence to applicable required in-service education for all staff. Identifies, assesses, and implements in-service programs as needed regarding the satisfactory performance of clinical skills and knowledge. Serves as Infection Control Nurse, reports infection control practices to Infection Control Officer and Administrator.
